We are a very social bunch, however we are not a social club. The following Club activities serve a better cause and are constantly in need for support:

Clubhouse Renovation Project

Our Clubhouse was built in 1914. For the upcoming 100-Year Anniversary we plan to have it restored and “up to code”. If you love old buildings, have a gift for decorating, if you are an architect, grants writer or love to organize fundraising events – this is the perfect Club activity for you. To get involved, please contact the club.

Bridge & Canasta

We play Bridge and Canasta every Monday afternoon for fun and to raise money for our Scholarship Fund. The fund supports graduating students of Santa Monica High School and we have donated several thousand dollars in the last couple of years alone. Admission is $2 for members and $3 for non-members and includes tea, coffee and dessert. We also play Marathon Scholarship Bridge every second Thursday in the afternoon and Canasta every fourth Thursday in the evening. Don’t know how to play? Well, we also offer classes! Please contact Addie at email hidden; JavaScript is required for if you wish to learn more.

Book Group

We are looking for a member to take charge of the Book Club. If you are interested in restarting our Book Club, please call President Becky Upchurch at (310) 393-5830

History Committee

Are you interested in history? Then our History Committee may be just what you are looking for. Our History Committee organizes lectures for the community on local history, is working on an oral history project and is preparing a brochure on the history of our Club. For more information, email the History Committee Chair, Laurel Czer at email hidden; JavaScript is required or phone her at (310) 395-1308.

Artists League

Our Artists League meets every Tuesday from 10 am to 1 pm. Artists work on their own projects in watercolor, acrylic, collage or other medium in the peaceful surroundings of our historic 2-level ballroom. Oil paint is excluded to preserve our beautiful almost 100-year old wooden floor. For more information please contact Alison Armstrong at email hidden; JavaScript is required.
